We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Piacente and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adam, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
That I was Kind. I would like people to remember that I was patient, tolerant, and kind. The world needs more patience, understanding, and kindness. I hope I can contribute to that from leading by example.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a walking cliche. I survive by bartending, but I’m 100% a creative. I write, produce, perform, draw, review movies. I live and breath film. Movies are my life. I do anything and everything I can to keep Movies a part of my everyday life. With zero family members in the business I worked my ass off to get my foot in the door. It’s incredibly hard. Working against the odds and a family who is scared for your future isn’t a cake walk. But it’s made me much stronger in my convictions. It’s easy to conform. It’s easy to stay the path people try to put you on. And risking it all for what you want isn’t easy. It’s hard. Anything worth doing takes hard work. So I love testing my limits everyday by carving my own path in this life. Because if I’ve learned anything, its that it’s your life. No one else’s. You decide how to live it. No matter what. We’re just passing through this life. It’s short. You only get one shot at it. Live it fulfilled, full of kindness, and full of love.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live and work in NYC. So I’d naturally take my friend to my job Brother Jimmy’s. It’s a fun sports bar that makes anyone who walks through the doors feel like they’re home. Other than that I’d take them around to all the places In the cut where I know the people who can give us a personal hometown experience. And if they want to do the touristy stuff, I’ll entertain it for a day. But only a day!

My beautiful and supportive wife Dominique. She’s a performer herself, and she fully supports/encourages my efforts.
