Meet Emily Perry | Recording Artist / Creative Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Perry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emily, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Over time I have had to remind myself of the importance of a healthy work/life balance. I think as artists we constantly use life itself as our muse. We write and create based on what is going on around us and the life experiences we have. Unless we are expanding that creative palette, we will never grow as people and therefore never mature as artists. On a daily basis, I am working to expand my knowledge in different areas … finding different passions besides what we normally consider part of our career. Right now my biggest hobbies include photography and going to museums!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Not being from LA originally, I’ve had lots of friends who have given me the grand tour. My personal Sunday would be a hike in Runyon Canyon, coffee at the Grove, hitting up the Melrose flea market, followed by a class at Playground LA, then moving onto margaritas at El Tejano’s in North Hollywood and pre covid, some live music to finish off the night! When my Aussie friends come to visit we would definitely add in Malibu Beach, the Venice boardwalk and my favourite LA house show, Saturday’s at Seven!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Mumma! She’s the cutest. Big love to her. She is the strongest woman I know and my biggest supporter. She has made me the badass woman I am today. There have been so many who have been a part of my journey that I will never be able to thank enough. A big thank you to all of the writers, producers, choreographers, photographers, and mentors I have had the pleasure of working with and who have generously shared their talents with me.
