We had the good fortune of connecting with Cassandra Costello and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cassandra, what do you attribute your success to?
Transparency. Since I started MoonLab Productions, I wanted to make sure that we stayed true to our values by giving the best guidance to our clients throughout the decision making process, even if the final decision or suggestion is not favorable to MoonLab. Over time, this honest approach cultivates a high level of trust from our clients and blossoms into what some would call a partnership. By investing time to understand their brand and team structure, avoiding in-line markup on hard costs (so our clients know what they are actually paying for), and being honest with our capabilities, MoonLab often finds itself being treated as an in-house agency for our top clients.
Another major factor is the MoonLab team. As a small agency, every team member’s role is critical to our success, so we focus on finding talent that vibes well, both in and out of the office, and especially with clients. We are very much structured like a family, promoting openness, honesty, and a “our door is always open” policy so that our workplace is not just a job, but more of a second home. Production and design can be daunting, challenging, and exhausting, so we make sure that our team shares in all of our successes. This has been a great motivator and allows our team to take ownership and allows them to feel like they are truly a part of MoonLab’s greater mission.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
MoonLab Productions is a full-service production + design agency specializing in live & virtual experiences, trade show exhibits, environmental design and digital content creation. We are truly your soup to nuts agency, anchored by a team with diverse backgrounds in entertainment, events, production, tech, music, fashion, digital, film, architecture, manufacturing, logistics, furniture design and site operations. Our myriad of talents offer a dynamic collaboration internally and externally. Whether we are producing a live or virtual conference, designing environments, strategizing an experiential pop-up, or building a FEMA COVID site – we got it covered!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I moved to Palm Springs a year ago and finally feel like I’ve found my home. The desert is a magical place and below is my ideal itinerary:
– Cocktails + Apps at The Colony Club @ The Colony Palms Hotel
– Day trip to Joshua Tree – check out the Crotchet Museum, eat lunch at the Joshua Tree Saloon, drive through Joshua Tree National Park for sunset and head back to the Saloon for live music.
– Ace Hotel day pool club passes for the most vibey poolside experience you can find in the area
– Dinner at Bar Cecil – try The Fifty Dollar Martini (it’s worth the experience- trust me)
– Brunch at Normas @ The Parker
– Hike up the Araby Trail next to Bob Hope’s house
– Walk through the Movie Colony Neighborhood to check out the mid-century modern architecture
– Spa day at Spa Andreas
– Drive by Robolights for the most bizarre yet rad installation you will ever witness
– Rooftop yoga (seasonal) at Power Yoga Palm Springs
– Poolside at The Avalon Palm Springs with lunch or dinner at Chi Chi
-Happy Hour at Paul Bar (the locals hidden secret and Paul is fabulous)
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
