We had the good fortune of connecting with Kadeem Fletcher Samantha Sales and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kadeem Fletcher, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
This is an intriguing one for us because we both have 9-5 jobs (working remotely at the moment) but balance isn’t a hard task for us. Normally we try to plan ahead and work proactively whether it’s me facilitating upcoming releases with our manufacturers/suppliers and then Samantha taking the product shots when they come in. Once we formulate an idea, I try to make sure that all the logistics behind properly releasing that idea are all in order. This helps to alleviate any pressure we may feel when juggling our day jobs with The Blooming Union.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Our ‘art’ is just a direct representation of what we see community and culture as. For us, two things are the driving forces behind everything we do with the brand because it drives us as people. I think when it comes down to it, just like many others, we had our struggles/trials and will continue to have them because it’s all apart of life but being instilled with great culture and sense of community, helps to keep you grounded and also motivated. Some of the biggest lessons have been centered around patience but another big one has been the focus of investing more and more in what we believe in.

For us, our brand is a direct reflection of us as a couple, from our chemistry to execution, it’s all pure. TBU is meant to inspire others but also unify. By creating our community and progressing our ideas, we are showing that when you do good, good is done to you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I won’t lie, I’m not sure we have many favorite spots haha. Samantha and I like to host people since I’m a really good cook and she’s a really good baker. We like to introduce our friends to each other and help build new bonds. So of course, we would go around the city and stuff but most of it, would be to spend time with our other friends and just vibe with them.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Truthfully I think the shoutout goes to us, but it wouldn’t be possible without our support system of loved ones, family and friends who supported us from the beginning. It’s one thing to support people just to support them but what we have learned is that these people truly love our product and we are honored that we can provide them with the Unified Synergy of TBU.
