We had the good fortune of connecting with Peech and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Peech, how do you think about risk?
Risk is very important in growing as a person or as a business. Growing up in sports, risk was a necessity and with my career now as an artist it’s just as important as it was then. If you’re not willing to take that risk to push to the next level, I don’t believe you’re ready for that next level. If you don’t take that risk you might lose that opportunity, I’ve always lived this way. I don’t wana miss any opportunity, no matter how small. Many of the risks I have taken have paid off in big ways. From taking the risk of investing in myself for my music, to quitting my day job. And when a risk doesn’t pay off, you will still learn from it which to me is still a big win.

A risk I took last year during the lockdown was investing into getting my music reviewed and doing a 2 week long artist development bootcamp with “Tha Lights Global”, based in LA. At the end of that bootcamp, that risk of spending my last dollars paid off big time. “Tha Lights Global” announced they wanted to sign me and I became a signed artist before the end of lockdown. If i had never taken that risk a lot would be different today, no way of knowing what it’d be like but i’d rather not worry about that. Im extremely happy with how things have turned out. TAKE RISKS!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Growing up I was never one who liked to talk, whether it was about my feelings or just talking in general. With music, it was never hard to get out how I felt, I never felt alone with music. My art is drowned in my emotion and my thoughts. I think that’s what makes art so beautiful, you could be watching or listening and feel what the artist felt when they made that record. I am extremely proud of myself to get to the point where I am able to do that for a living. This journey is a big long rollercoaster, it is very hard for creatives to get recognized, more than anything i’m grateful for the people who listen to my art. With all the challenges and obstacles I never lost sight of my goals and I think the family of people listening is what makes that possible. There are people out there who are going through the same things that I did, and maybe my music might help them with that. Nobodies alone in this world, we all feel like we are but we truly have each other. We are all connected, it just takes a little something for us to realize it, and my music might be a way for you to come to that realization. I’ve learned a lot in these short couple years, from the importance of being patient to being able to take that time to truly admire what I’ve done without slowing up. I want everybody who listens to my art to come away from it with a different point of view, maybe feel a little less alone and know they gained somehow who understands them and is always there for them. Ive always said I don’t do this for myself, i am a vessel for those who need someone and who may need to hear what I speak.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
To be honest, I’m not big planner but this is how our week would go. Beach, recording studio, uber eats, recording studio, beach. That sounds like the best week to me. but if they don’t make music maybe just more of the beach.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
You know, this journey has been such a blessing. It’s hard to sit back and really take it in. I’ve dedicated my life to creating and evolving, as a person and a brand and without a lot of the people in my life it would’ve been a whole lot harder. There are many people who deserve a shoutout for everything they’ve done and helped me with in these past years.

To start that off, my mom and my brothers deserves the biggest shoutouts of all. Without them all this that I have created would not be what it is today. From the support and encouragement to showing me how to be a good man. Love ya’ll man.

I also would love to shoutout some of my closest friends who kept me up when things were down. My main man Dewey, who’s an artist as well, hasn’t left my side since I started on this journey. And huge shoutout to my brother Zips and Jesse Jazz, these guys have supported my ass more than anyone and I just met them last year, I appreciate you guys and thank you for all your wise words and continued support.

There are so many more who I appreciate more than anything, and to them, thank you. You all deserve the world.
