We had the good fortune of connecting with Milena Mortati and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Milena, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The deep desire and wish to build and belong to a tribe of like minded artists wanting to express their ideas, ideals and make a difference through the power of creativity,.. crossing boarders and bringing communities together by celebrating life through bold colors and unconventionality!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a multimedia platform designed from artists for artists, offering creatives exciting new ways to share their unique talent to an international audience and providing collectors and art lovers ways to discover hidden gems. Our goal is to facilitate and foster collaborations and support for independent artists from all walks of life across all mediums. Providing a space where events, projects and ideas can be brought to life through various avenues and share inspiring stories to help bring awareness and flood creativity back into our communities. Our intention is to provide a space that fosters a global community, crossing borders in pursuit of bringing all sorts of artistic talent to the forefront. We are nomadic at this time with the objective of finding a permanent home in the heart of Los Angeles where we can ensure a safe haven of inclusion, acceptance and freedom of expression.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Los Angeles is notorious for its many beautiful hikes and artisan markets including Griffith Park and Malibu lake

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
CRE8 is a Cultural Arts Center built to push talent to the forefront, bring communities together and shine a light on the historically under represented artists. Kalise Wallace (Creative Director), Diana Barillas (Curator) and I have been working tirelessly to ensure our vision stays authentic. We get to meet and work with incredible and diverse talent, volunteers and supporters who share the same vision. We’d like to thank everyone who has become part of our tribe and supportive of our mission.
