We had the good fortune of connecting with Domanique Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Domanique, what do you attribute your success to?
The success my brand has experienced so far is due to the fact that I’ve infused my personality into my brand. I’m creative. I keep it real. And I’m very passionate about women making money. I let all of that shine through my brand: everything from my website copy, to my brand photos, to my Instagram stories. I don’t try to be overly professional (I left the corporate world for a reason) or use words that I wouldn’t naturally use when talking with a friend. Because my brand is authentic to me, it attracts like-minded clients that love working with me and that I love working with!

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m the CEO & founder of The Rebrand Lab, which is a creative agency that specializes in personality-infused branding and websites for disruptive, women-led businesses.

I’d say our holistic rebrand approach is what sets us apart from others. Clients come to us when they’re ready for a business transformation, not when they’re only looking to update one piece of the puzzle: like their logo.

In addition to brand and website design, we help them to develop/strengthen their brand voice, map their client journey, write their website copy, maintain their brand through monthly design retainers, develop launch plans, etc.

I love what I do now, but The Rebrand Lab was not my first attempt at running a business. I had two others businesses before this one but eventually shut them down. Like most entrepreneurs, it took a while for me to find the business idea that stuck. I had to find a balance of what allows me to make the most use of my talents, what matches the earning potential I desire, and what would be sustainable decades from now.

Entrepreneurship is a journey. I went to school for Fashion Design; so while I took some business classes, 99.9% of my business success has come from years of learning and figuring things out as I go.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, I’m a big foodie so if a friend is visiting Pittsburgh they better bring their stretchy pants. Some of my favorite places to hang out in the city are Coop de Ville, Cinderlands, and Walters. They all have great food, drinks, and have plenty of activities to do with friends. If they like tacos (who doesn’t?) we’ll hit up Condado Tacos for build-your-own tacos and spicy margaritas. My favorite brunch spot in the city is Muddy Waters, so that would be a perfect way to end their visit. They’re a little piece of New Orleans inside Pittsburgh and everything on their menu is amazing!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My entire family supports and cheers on every business move I make. But I especially love the support that my husband gives because he doesn’t let me live in la-la land or fill my head with hot air. He keeps it real and helps narrow my focus when needed. I really respect that!
