We had the good fortune of connecting with Gene Hsu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gene, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Most outsiders are unaware that breakthrough success doing business in China isn’t affected by trade wars, economic uncertainty, or geopolitical tensions as much as the devil within each of us. As soon as we (Americans) stop listening to our “inner voices”, we can begin influencing our partners and employees in China is a more positive and constructive way.

What should our readers know about your business?
There is an overabundance of China experts, trainers, consultants, and advisors, many who work as pundits, but none of them are focused on achieving breakthroughs at the intersection of NLP, The Art of War, and human psychology. I’ve simplified these complicated topics into practical tactics and strategies for my clients and students to develop a winning approach for achieving breakthrough success across cultures doing business in China.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In the midst of this pandemic, I discovered the ultimate stress relief experience at Box Springs Mountain Reserve Park. In addition to hiking and biking with few people around, you can also feed wild mules that are as sweet as kittens.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes to my son, a 2nd generation American Born Chinese (ABC). Jayden Hsu is the primary reason why I set out on a mission to improve US-China relations one cross-cultural relationship at a time.
