We had the good fortune of connecting with Myra Choo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Myra, why did you pursue a creative career?
Pursuing the arts is a need more than a want. When I was 13, I started to realise that music to me was more than a hobby and a skill. I spent so much of my time thinking about it, it became hard to imagine a happy future without doing music. Taking your art and making it into your career is definitely challenging. However, what ultimately drove me to pick music as my career, was knowing that my passion would push me to be able to overcome all those difficult odds.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Music producer and a classically trained violinist that specialises in Pop and Rnb. My violin journey dates way back but I fell in love with production in recent years. It has since been something I have been focusing on. Bringing interesting string arrangements into productions is my specialty. It really brings me so much joy to help artists and other producers find their unique voice. I would not say I am the biggest of producers and I am still on this difficult journey of turning my love into my career. However, if I could pass on any word of advice, it would be this. Dream big & work realistically. Having dreams is amazing, but the amount of work that goes into fulfilling that is never small. Don’t give up, and be stubborn when you need to be!

My mummy and Daddy, Ms Sylvia Khoo, The Snakeweed Community and all those who have been my inspiration and shining light.
