We had the good fortune of connecting with Simone Grooms and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Simone, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I’ve always considered myself a risk taker. I’ve always found myself never afraid to do anything , or to fail. I truly think failing is a part of life. You know how people say “If you don’t try you’ll never know the outcome.” My mom taught me that and that has always stayed in the back of my mind.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I spend a lot of time constantly working on new project representing brands and helping promote events. I also spend a lot of time diving into my own creative projects.
As a creative I always try to use my work to bring new ways of expressing myself to the table. I always try to get my vision more clear as time goes on. What sets me apart from others is that I am consistent with my work. I started my career really early which has lead me to hit success very fast but I personally still feel like I have a lot of work to do. When new challenges come my way I deal with them and just get back to work. I think art heals more than we give it credit. I want the world to know how grateful I am to have the platform I have. My art is what keeps me going and I hope what I showcase soon and in the future continues to heal the world around me.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
LA has really cool spots to hang and chill. I definitely would recommend the beach such as Malibu. The rocks and skyline views are really pretty over there! I enjoy cooking but if I do decide to go out. I would say The Nice Guy is a really nice restaurant and Delilah for a late night drink! To be honest, LA in general is a very cool place to enjoy lol
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ve always had a list of mentors that I feel have shaped me into the person I am today. My mother because of her constant wisdom and grace. In addition my mentor Royce Reed and my foundation which is my family. I am thankful for the women in my personal life for leading me into the right direction. Besides family, platforms such as Rihanna and Beyonce have mentored me a lot, I was always seen playing a Beyonce song or gagging over Rihanna anytime she posted to social media lol.
