We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenneth Boyd and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kenneth, how do you think about risk?
The world wouldn’t evolve without taking risk. Sometimes the best results are due to stepping out of our comfort zone and put in uncomfortable situations. If you’re not taking risk it shows that you’re limiting yourself. One of my biggest risk is TIME. I am focused on where I want to be. My continuous effort of cutting hair from sun up to sun down for 3 years straight-no off days- is one example. I want to be known as exceptional. Being a new barber means I have to put in the work.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I want people to know that I am very versatile and symmetrical when it’s comes to my haircuts. I don’t just cut hair, I groom. Because of this, I learned that there are all types of textures, directions and styles in reference to hair.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
On a good day, I like to take a visit to “Lake Hollywood”and enjoy the scenery while clearing my head. I’m into art so I visit the “Matter Studio Gallery” where there’s exhibiting work from diverse LA and SoCal artists. Every morning I visit “LA Grind coffee and Tea Bar” for the best Tropical Tea hands down. One thing I love is food so I’m all around the city for that lol. My favorite food is hibachi, you can’t go wrong with this. I either take a visit to “Bachi Yaki” or “Benihabachi” for that. When I’m in a chicken mood I go to “CJs Wings, The Broaster Kings” for that famous BOSS SAUCE. I love to shop so I stay on Melrose. I like to play ball at “Pan Pacific Park”, bowl at Mar Vista Lanes”, or workout at “Kenneth Hahn Park”.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If it wasn’t for the love and support of my parents, I have no clue where I’d be. They have always encouraged me. My parents installed confidence in me that I can succeed in anything I do. Shout out to all my family and friends, I love y’all. Also, I want to give a shout out to all my barber family. All those long days and nights of polishing the craft and the consistent studies of hair.
