We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Giron and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christopher, why did you pursue a creative career?
Ever since I can remember, I wanted to become an artist. I pursued a career in the art industry not only for my love of art, or my love for drawing,I did it because I want to show the world that there is more to horror and gore art, than just the blood and guts. I became an artist because I want to tell many stories using my art, I want to take my viewers into a journey throughout my head, and bring the world a different image to horror and gore art. Art is one of the best ways to express our feelings, but its also one of the best ways to tell a story, I can promise you this, all my pieces have a different story to them, it is up to you as the viewer to unfold it as you view my work.

I remember many people telling me to not pursue an artistic career, as there is no guarantee of success, and yes this is true, there is no guarantee to a successful career as an artist. Yet I’ve worked hard enough to start making a name for myself in the horror and gore art community, and I plan on keep climbing the latter and keep creating my art. I strongly follow the idea that any one can have different career, yet to have an artistic career or a creative one, one must be able to dream, to be able to let their inner child out, and to fly as we do in our dreams, for our only limitation as artists, is our own self doubt.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Ive done horror and gore art most of my life yet, I also love creating fantasy scenery, and kid cartoons that can be enjoyed by everyone. As a horror and gore artist, my art is very detailed and everything in the piece itself has a purpose, or a meaning. I love creating nightmarish art that can be a regular job in our world, but represented in Hell. My art might not be for everyone yet, but my goal is to have my gore and horror art be seen my all, and for them to see beyond the image, and tell their own story. Many of the challenges of my career started in 2020 as the pandemic limited me from selling my hand drawn pieces, yet in 2021, I was able to enter the digital art world, and now I can say I’m a digital artist as well, and I am so excited to keep growing my career as an artist, and as a digital artist. Learning digital was definitely a challenge as well, as I had to learn new ways to use layers, different brushes, and learning the software, yet it gave me an opportunity to expand my services as an artist and to keep creating amazing pieces.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Our wonderful city has many amazing area to hangout, yet places I really enjoy, especially cuz I know my Josie likes them, are places like Beetlehouse Restaurant and Bar, in downtown LA. This amazing gothic lounge is the great escape get away for us dark artist to have a wonderful night.

Another place that I can get lost at is the Getty museum. The Getty Galleria museum is one of my favorite places in LA, as it holds many amazing historical art pieces, and you can have a glass of wine while you walk around the beautiful gardens.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Ive had many mentors throughout my life, many like my fellow Artists Layna Bedo, Rei Hernandez, and Gabriela Shel, who’ve been amazing supporters of my art and my goal, yet there’s one person whom deserves a whole book on my gratitude and my appreciation, that person is my be loved Josephine. Josephine is my girlfriend, my soulmate, and my person. Her encouragement and support for my art, and my dreams have been my rock in times when everything seems impossible. As an artist and dreamer herself, Josie has worked her whole life to keep on dreaming and to live her dreams. I means sop much when your significant other wants to not only help you keep on dreaming, but also dream alongside you. She is someone I can discuss art and also create. Later this year, we are releasing a whole collection that we will be creating together, and I am beyond excited to have my partner to create something with me and release it for the whole world to see, how amazing, and talented my Josephine is.
