We had the good fortune of connecting with Holly Leever and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Holly, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
My business has been a labor of so much love for nearly 10 years. I wouldn’t say there was one simple idea that I came up with per say, but I have followed my intuition and passion to uncover the next steps all along. So much of it has been about following my inner knowing. When I first walked into the acupuncture school I attended in 2009, I felt an overwhelming sense of being in the right place. I can recall a time many years later trying to come up with a new business name to reflect my newest offerings, Arvigo Abdominal Massage & Yoni Steaming, and when I finally scrawled ‘Rosebud Wellness’ I knew I had found it! My business continues to evolve as I learn new things and gain more clarity around what it is I am offering to the world. So much of it has been about just going for it and trying it on to see what works and what doesn’t. I started a podcast recently called, ‘Womb Wisdom.’ I just went for it because I had an idea that I thought people might be interested in. Sometimes I lose faith in the process and I feel frustrated and blocked. I have found over the years that eventually creativity starts to flow again, but sometimes you just have to wait it out. Ultimately it has been listening from the inside and following my gut that has brought me to where I am today and will continue to guide me to wherever I’m going next.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am the owner of Rosebud Wellness in Thousand Oaks, CA. I practice women’s holistic health as a licensed Acupuncturist, Herbalist, Yoni Steam therapist and Arvigo Abdominal Massage Therapist. I became interested in working with women’s health after learning how much could be revealed about a woman’s overall health by looking at the parameters of the menstrual cycle.

I have continued to study a variety of techniques in order to offer women at all stages of life, from menarche to menopause, the care they deserve. I am especially passionate about working with women in the perinatal time (prenatal, birth & postpartum).

I also host a weekly podcast called, ‘Womb Wisdom’. The podcast is a combination of information on women’s holistic health practices and stories from women on their experience with periods, fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum and motherhood.

I am also a new Mom. My sweet daughter will be 2 in March.

Along the way I have learned that the most important thing is that women leave my practice feeling better than they did when they came in. I want women to feel seen, heard, educated and cared for. My main mission in life is not to make my clients dependent on me or my treatments, but to help them feel empowered to live their most vital and joyful life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Topanga – I have so much love for Topanga. The community center has a lovely playground. I love the hiking trails & Topanga Living Cafe of course.

Zuma Beach – Zuma is clean and calm and so very beautiful.

Griffith Park – They also have a really fun playground here (Mom Life) and beautiful hiking trails. It’s like a little fantasy land.

Ojai – It is such a sweet town and has tons of outdoor space and beautiful places to hangout.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people that have guided me along the way! In terms of acupuncture, Sharon Weizenbaum has been one of my greatest mentors. Meghan Mahealani Makena was so instrumental in my transition to focusing on women’s health and following my inner knowing. Lisa Hendrickson-Jack has been an amazing mentor in the fertility awareness method, which has helped me to guide so many other women. The most influential book in my life thus far is, ‘Women Who Run with The Wolves’ by Clarissa Pinkola Estes. Also to my friends & family for always believing in me and supporting what I’m doing in the world.
