We had the good fortune of connecting with Mackenzie Fuhrmann and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mackenzie, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
Authenticity. I knew when I started Evolution of a Party Girl, that what would be the most rewarding, was being myself and staying honest and true to that. My mother likes to joke that I am the same person I was at 2, at 15, and now at 35. I am proud of that. Working in the social media space, there comes a lot of pressure to always be “On.” Have the best photos, be extremely put together, that is not me. As a mom of a toddler, I am lucky if I even get to wash my face before noon. I wanted my influence to be a positive one, to make people laugh and just be me. I believe y0u should come as you are, stay as you are, and that will always be enough.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am the digital content creator and blogger for Evolution of a Party Girl. A brand I started when I first moved from NYC to LA in 2017. I had been laid off from a job that I gave my life and soul to only to be blind sided and let go. It was extremely embarrassing and a gut punch to say the least. My husband had the opportunity to head to LA for his work and proposed it a few times that year. Once my job ended, I turned to my husband one night on the couch and said “F it, let’s do it.” We moved 3 months later. In the midst of preparing to move, I knew I did not want to find another job, coming up with ideas for their social media presence, so I decided to start my own. I lived wild and fast in my 20’s and was labeled as a very big party girl. I wanted to start a brand that embodied a lot of my past but also made space for my future. With that, Evolution of a Party Girl was born. One thing I used to always tell people is “Life is a party, and everyone remembers you by how you dance.” Just because we get older does not mean the party ends, it just gets better! Evolution of a Party Girl is about the evolution of the good times, from club life to mom life and everything in between.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is right up my alley. I am a planner through and through. I plan all my family trips, friends vacations, and girls trips. Itineraries are the name of my fast and slow game honey! Whenever I have anyone in town, I like to show them all different sides of LA that are my absolute favorites. In the morning that means waking up and hitting a Training Mate class in Studio City, founded byLuke Milton, the classes are filled with australian accents, good looks, great music, and such fun energy. Another class I love is Wundabar Pilates in Studio City, low impact and incredible results. Of course after a workout, we would go down the street to Bluestone Lane coffee for a latte and avocado toast. The vibe is very cute and cozy.

Now since it is LA and the weather is wonderful all the time, with friends its best to enjoy it poolside. Since I do not have a pool (pipe dream) I use Resort Pass, where I browse pools that I can buy a day pass. Some favorites are the Kimpton,
Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hilton and The. W.

After a relaxing day at the pool, it is time to get dressed and head out for dinner. Some of my absolute favorite restaurant are Santuari in Burbank, a pre fixed menu on the weekends and everything is lights out.

Verse LA : Was once a recording studio that has live music every weekend and the drinks are incredible. Order the Smokin’ Old Fashioned… You’re welcome.

Catch LA: Quintessential LA Scene, food is fire and the energy is electric.

Ca Del Sol: Incredible Italian and a staple for date nights with my husband.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband and biggest supporter, Derek. The man has never once tried to change me, pushes me to be my best, and is beside me cheering for every win and holding my hand through every hiccup. A devoted father who loves the role, and shows me every day how special this life is. He is the biggest fan of Evolution of a Party Girl and for that, I am forever grateful.
