We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessyca Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessyca, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Availability to my family! Not having to ask anyone for “permission” for a day off to take my daughter to an appointment or somewhere fun! Not having to wait for a time off request to be approved in order to spend time with my loved ones. Learning that my time is truly mine has been extremely eye opening. I am able to have balance because I don’t have to answer to anyone. I am my own boss! I am able to take a break from work when I need to and not get too overwhelmed.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Every item that I make is made with love and creativity as if I am making it for myself. I truly love making tumblers and it is a source of stress relief and relaxation for me. I kept dreaming about making them and so many ideas come to me and to be able to actually take your ideas and make them real is truly magical and a blessing! I love going to vendor events and seeing how much people enjoy my craft and it always surprises me at how amazed people truly are. It took a lot of trial and error (I am a perfectionist) and now I finally feel like I’m in a place where I am truly successful in what I do!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I love to cook and entertain! So I would definitely have a nice dinner party, go to brunch somewhere nice and a spa day! Although I live in Las Vegas I dont really go to the strip lol.. but I would go if my friend wanted to!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my family!  My husband who always pushes me to be the best I can be. Who supports me and encouraged me to quit my job and follow my dream of being a full time entrepreneur. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, he helped me realize how I was holding myself back and second guessing myself. I am setting an example for my children, they will know and understand the power within entrepreneurship.
