Meet Karo Moralyan | Artist/Musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Karo Moralyan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Karo, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk taking has definitely played an important role in my life/career. The pursuit of the arts (the industry I’m in) is a risk in itself. Because of this, artists often get caught playing too safe and afraid to take chances. But to really stand out from the crowd and create something meaningful, you have to be bold and daring. That often involves doing something different and putting yourself out there. Whether that is in the art itself, or in the marketing/promotional aspect of things, it can help take your career to the next level. As far as life goes, nothing great and exciting comes from always playing it safe. Of course, you need to be grounded and have your set of routines and habits to live by. But every once in a while, you need to do something crazy. It’ll help you stay sane.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an artist & musician. I have done a lot of different things in music, ranging from being a producer and working on songs behind the scenes to fronting projects and playing shows in front of live audiences. I am proud of a lot of the things I’ve done. But I am most excited about my brand and artist project ED.1T. We have been working as a group for over 5 years, and we are just now starting to get some real recognition and traction. The journey itself was not easy. There were many ups and downs, even times when we almost quit. But thanks to our resilience (and a little bit of luck) things just seemed to always work out. I believe that life always pushes you in the direction that you are meant to go in. You just have to believe and do the work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First off, I would take them to the Griffith Observatory. It’s probably the best view of LA there is. Then I’d take them to a couple nice places to eat. Of course, we would go to the beach, probably Malibu. Followed by a hike or two (if they’re into that sort of thing). I would also throw a party or a BBQ and have them over. Other than that, there are always good concerts and events happening around town. It would depend on the season and what they’re into.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are many people and things that have contributed to my success over the years. My family, friends, and close relatives have always been supportive and helped me on my journey. The artists that I have worked and collaborated with over the years have also played a crucial role. But most importantly, you cannot tell my story without recognizing my co-partners, co-writers, and close friends Nelson Harris and Nahuel Franco. I won’t be where I am and I can’t do what I do without those two.
