We had the good fortune of connecting with Celina Sasso and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Celina, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
To have a plan B or something else to fall back on if the arts don’t cut it.

Although it’s safe and smart to have one, I’ve always seen it as an excuse to fail your plan A. I always hated hearing I need a plan B so I never allowed myself to have one and I’m glad I don’t because I wouldn’t be where I am now.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve been wanting to be a professional singer for as long as I can remember. I grew up listening to oldies, jazz, and powerhouse Icons and always strived to be like them. I can’t put my finger as to why I wanted to pursue this. I loved how it felt and I knew this is all I wanted to do so it’s all I did. As I progressed in my craft, I faced a lot of insecurities, anxiety, and imposter syndrome that I still deal with today. Luckily, I’ve been able to work through them by being true to myself and my art. I stopped comparing and started supporting because at the end of the day we’re all going for the same thing. In one way or another, we’re touching hearts and souls with our art. There’s room for everyone. Nothing is more rewarding than hearing how my craft has touched or effected someone. That’s why I do what I do.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would definitely have to go to Fremont Street at some point. I feel like I can speak for any Vegas native when I say Fremont Street is where it’s at. The best local food and bars reside around there. Something’s always happening— Live bands, music, local artists displays, murals, themed bars, museums, attractions, retro shops, coffee joints. It’s an all in one stop for anyone who enjoys living!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I must give a HUGE shout out to my family and friends who’ve supported me from the beginning. They’ve watched me grow literally and musically into who I am now and I only hope I’ve made them proud. And a shout out to my friends in the music and theatre community in Las Vegas. I can’t thank them enough for their love and constant support!
