Meet Jessica Williams | Fashion Designer and CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, what is the most important factor behind your success?
My story is the biggest success factor behind my brand. I believe people appreciate our uncut journey of trials, errors, fearlessness, and God-fearing faith. I also believe that our success comes from staying in our lane. Irregular Exposure is an attainable luxury label that fully designs every garment that we release. Our Customers appreciate creativity and exclusivity. We provide that without breaking the bank. ll

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I began my career at the age of 14. I began as a Custom Seamstress and Designer. I also was a member of the NAACP Youth Entrepreneurship Program. That truly molded my dreams into a possible reality. At 17, I relocated to Philly for college where I studied fashion design. I later graduated and returned to my hometown of Baltimore to design and also join the workforce to make ends meet. After 5 years of working within corporate while juggling my brand, I took the leap of faith and entered full-time entrepreneurship. Nothing about it was easy. I invested in further entrepreneurial education and never stopped being a student. Within my first 24 hours of entrepreneurship, I made $12k. I was only 24 years old and on top of the world. This was the beginning of my true faith walk. Since then my brands have grown to see great success.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my BFF came to visit, we would visit one of my favorite exhibits which is the ‘Tupac” Wake me when I’m free” exhibition in Los Angeles. To witness a journey fills my spirit. I would take my friend to the movies as well. I love watching movies not just to witness the storyline but to gain inspiration from the sets, characters, and cinematography. We would also visit some swanky rooftops with great food and views. We would stop by Soho House for networking and vibes as well. We’d also take a mini road trip to San Diego or Vegas to eat some bomb food. I am adventurous, so we would definitely snag a yacht for a day as well.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I credit my success to God and my family. Without both, my journey would not be the same. God has carried my vision this far and is only taking me further. My family supported my dreams since I was a child. Today, I am 30 years old covered in blessing and love!
