We had the good fortune of connecting with Charlicia Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charlicia, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success thus far is my creativity. It’s easy to do the same thing over and over again but I love the challenge of allowing my creativity to evolve.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Long story short I was bored and decided to bake a cake! I fell in love with baking and designing beautiful cakes and have not looked back ever since. I started decorating my kids birthday parties 3 years back and realized how much I loved it! Now I do both, bake and decorate for events! It has not been easy, there were times when I wonder if I made the right decision in career choice, but I’m constantly reminded of why I chose this path. I love to create and design. It brings me so much joy to wake up and do what I love. I wouldn’t trade it for the world! One of the biggest lessons I learned so far is that I need to focus on creating the best version of me. I am my biggest competition. It’s up to me to continue to educated myself on my craft and continue to evolve and get better. When you hear Whimsical Decor and treats think of fun moments, beautiful memories and yummy desserts!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting Detriot, what are some spots they could take them to?
Downtown detroit would definitely be the area! I love my city! Detroit river walk would be my first stop! We have some really great restaurants, Great food, great people and great vibes!!
