Meet Lusine Vartanian | Wedding & Event Planner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lusine Vartanian and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lusine, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Creativity has always been a big part of my life. For as long as I can remember I’ve been involved in all kinds of art, from playing the piano, to singing, to acting and dancing. I always knew I would have a career in the creative field, but I was never sure what it would be. Starting Event Du Jour was a passion project for me. It was something I thought about a decade prior to starting it after watching the movie “The Wedding Planner.” It started off as a side gig while I was still at my corporate job. I was so bored in the corporate world, my creative self was begging me to do something different. It wasn’t until 3 years of working both a 9-5 job and planning events, that I mustered up the courage to leave the corporate world and focus solely on my business. Leaving the 9-5 world behind was the best decision I ever made for myself. Since then, I’ve been able to grow my business and even opened up my first ever physical location.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been in the industry for 6 years now and it has been a beautiful journey. The last 6 years have been filled with stunning events, happy clients, and many challenges and learning opportunities. I want people to know that coming to Event Du Jour means their event will be in capable and experienced hands. My team and I go above and beyond for our clients and truly go the extra mile to ensure a successful celebration. I not only pay attention to the aesthetics of the event, but also the experience. While the design of an event is very important and the first impression, the experience is what’s remembered for years to come. I pride myself for the level of professionalism, creativity and unique perspective I bring to the table.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Where do I begin? There are so many great places, restaurants, and shopping experiences to be had in Los Angeles. Here are just a few of them…
Dining:
1) Brunch at Republique – because it is absolutely delicious
2) Lunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel – Polo Lounge – because it is an iconic location
3) Dinner at Osteria Mozza – my favorite Italian restaurant by chef Nancy Silverton
Site Seeing/Activities:
1) The Broad Museum in DTLA
3) Malibu Beach Day
4) Disneyland – I don’t care how old you are, Disneyland is the happiest place on earth!
Shopping:
1) Rodeo Drive
2) Robertson/Melrose Place
3) Palisades Village

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family has been the biggest support system throughout my life and career. My father especially. He is a serial entrepreneur and his influence in my career has been huge. Watching him build one business after another and be successful has always been something to look up to for me.
