We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Dubia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angela, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Potential Risks and Challenges For Green, Clean, Beauty Indie Retailers the startup can be risky for even those who are business savvy and serial entrepreneurs. Some of the hosts of challenges start with financing, do you choose to self-fund or gain outside help. Strategizing and finding the right people to work with, hire and align yourself with. Find the right influencers and affiliates to join forces with. Every business has their own unique challenges even those who are heavily funded.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started off as a teenager as a fragrance model, working for Oscar De la Renta, Yves St Laurent, Givenchy. I was extremely passionate and good at this position. I then went to become an account coordinator and then after I finished college with a BS degree in Business Administration, I became an account executive and oversaw about 100 department stores in California. I loved my job, the people I worked with, the people I trained. I had the best mentors, leaders, and managers one could ever ask for. They all taught me how to be the best version of myself, how to be the best in the business.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I currently live in Orange County, which is really a little circle of everything I love. I love the people, the beaches, the restaurants, the weather. There is so much to do here.
It is very clean and safe. The freeways do not get too crowded or busy. I do love to visit for the weekend in Los Angeles or even San Diego. I will take friends to Temecula to go wine tasting at my current favorite place which is Altisima Winery.
For dinner my favorite restaurant is Marche Modern for a little French food and one of my favorite waiters works there, his name is Dane, he is the best!
I love to take friends to the beaches, to get a massage, go to Cinepolis and grab some food and wine and watch a movie.
If I head up to LA we usually visit the SOHO Malibu house, which is one of my most favorite places to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon at.
Usually most of my activities with family and friends, includes, good food + good wine + great atmospheres.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To me the importance to having a good mentor is everything Reflecting on my own journey, my biggest cheerleader and mentor is Marilyn Grant, she was one of my professors at the college I graduated from. Little did I know when I took her class that still to this day would she be very active in my life, with wisdom and encouragement. With today’s landscapes and complex challenges that occur constantly it is great to have someone to bounce ideas off. Her experience, and accomplishments always impressed me and challenged me to become better and better.
