We had the good fortune of connecting with William Prescott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi William, what do you attribute your success to?
I think for me it’s about being happy with my job every day, not dreading Monday’s. I fell into a corporate advertising career at 23 and I slowly died inside Why wasn’t I saying “TGI Monday!”? At 33 decided to quit and focus solely on acting. All or nothing. Since then I’ve never been happier.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Honestly, I just love making people laugh. I think laughter has always been my currency of value in relationships. A huge portion of the projects I have been cast in have been comedic and it’s an artistic style I feel most comfortable in. I used to impersonate teachers in primary school, then bosses at work and thought – imagine if I could get paid to mess around like this. Now I do and I feel really lucky!

In 2022 my new TV series The Next Big Thing is launching through Bravada Films in Australia. Co-written with Lee Beckhurst and directed by Dean Codrington, the show follows 3 hopeful wannabes on their rocky journey to fame – a gentle boxer, a rocked star, an over actor. Covid delayed the release so we can’t wait to get this out there! You can view the trailer here: https://youtu.be/8TT7z2f3WdE

I was lucky enough to land a supporting role here in LA in the upcoming 2023 film We Have a Ghost, starring Stranger Things David Harbour and The Avengers Anthony Mackie. Directed by Christopher Landon, I think the audience is in for a real treat with the gem, coming to Netflix.

I’ve been really fortunate in LA to work in the city I always dreamed of living in and just look forward to seeing what’s next! It’s a roller coaster but… I like rides.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First – The Den on Sunset. Best bar in LA. Any local friends here reading this are rolling their eyes because it’s really the only place I talk about haha. Looking for a friendly sports bar that’s always a party? We hit Elbow Room in Hollywood! I go there once a month for the UFC PPV. Then I’d say let’s work off the hangover with a hike up to the Hollywood sign for a spectacular view of LA from just behind the sign itself. Eat our weight in Red Velvet Waffles at The Waffle on Vine/Sunset. Recovery day on Venice beach and if you want to get really touristy – a drive out to the valley to see Marty Mcfly’s house from Back to the Future! Somewhere in there, The Comedy Store is a must too!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Definitely my mum! She’s the best and I always turn to her for sound advice and support. But also, all the people who represent me in my career. I’m lucky enough to have four different agents (2 in LA and 2 in Australia) and I really would be lost without them. Nerida Moore at MCA has been my agent for 10+ years and been a huge mentor in the industry.
