Meet Yutine Fung | Travel Blogger & Digital Marketer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Yutine Fung and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Let’s talk about Avantera Marketing? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m always seeking a venue to freely express myself and support things that I genuinely like. I love supporting small businesses that dare to be different, places that are lesser-known but have their own charm. I believe in diversity and this world is a lot bigger than just a few big-name corporations.
When the pandemic hit in 2020, I chose Instagram as the platform to express myself. All of us were quarantined at home and feeling miserable. So I tried to find something fun to lighten the mood. At first, I shared some recipes because I’m a foodie and cooking is a great way to entertain ourselves at home. Later on, I started to venture out to outdoor places as well as those hidden gems in LA. Some of my favorite finds are Mount Wilson Observatory, Franklin Canyon Park, and Naples Canals in Long Beach.
I have a BA degree in Film production and I love photography. I own a Nikon D750 and had a lot of fun shooting with the camera. Photography allows me to appreciate the small things in life. Whenever I see something interesting, I play with the perspective, composition, and lighting. Sometimes the results can really surprise me.
Nowadays I enjoy taking photos and videos of unique places, cute coffee shops, and quirky businesses. I post about them on social media so more people will know about them. One key thing that I learnt when building my social media brand was that people came to my content to seek information. My audiences are also travel enthusiasts who want to experience the world. I make an effort to ensure that my content is unique and provides value. I don’t copy the trends or brag about my lifestyle. I see social media as a way to build connection and be inspired by people.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Los Angeles is an amazing place to explore. We have access to beaches, mountains, desert and of course the coolest restaurants and museums. You can’t come to LA without experiencing the film culture. It’s a must to check out West Hollywood which includes Melrose Avenue, Santa Monica Boulevard and Sunset Strip. Go visit the cafes in those neighborhoods and see how many writers are working on their screenplays. Their passion is intoxicating and makes you want to start creating.
Be sure to check out the famous beaches like Santa Monica, Venice, and Malibu. Visit the Getty Villa which has a nice collection of Greek and Roman arts. The museum also has a beautiful garden overlooking the ocean. There are many fun places to hang out in Malibu such as Cafe on 27, Paradise Cove Beach Cafe, Malibu Farm and the Malibu Cafe.
If time allows, take a road trip to Palm Springs and experience one of the most unique desert landscapes. You will find the city offering mid-century architecture, bohemian style, eccentric arts and hot springs resorts. It’s definitely a great destination to unwind and recharge.
