Meet Chloe Freedman | CEO, Entertainment Management

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chloe Freedman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chloe, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I really loved the idea of being my own boss and creating something from scratch. I wanted to bring my vision out and create something that would give me longevity in my field. I wanted to (and still continue) to empower young females who have a goal, a vision, a passion, that anyone can do anything if you put your mind to it and believe in yourself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started off working as an intern for a music PR Company in London, UK which is where I am from. I soon came to the realization that as much as I loved my job, I definitely wanted to work in the management field. I utilized the connections I had made at the PR Company and went on to assist some of the artist managers to learn more about management. After this I tried for a very long time to get a role at a managment company, and after 6 months of trying I was struggling, this was due to lack of opportunity. Shortly after that I had to re evaluate what I was going to do, so I had to make the decision of change career path or build my own company. I chose the latter and shortly after that I started to get my own music clients, which led to a multitude of different opportunites. It took me a very long time to build out, with a lot of financial and mental hurdles along they way, but I just knew that this was all I wanted to do, and to not give up. My outlook has always been that everyone successful started somewhere like myself and many others, and if they can do it why can’t I.
I got an opportunity to travel to Los Angeles to meet with a very well known executive who was interested in signing 1 of my artists – this is where I feel my journey really began for me, and since that day I have never looked back. After being here only 5 days, I realized this is where I needed to be for the industry and the opportunities were just pouring in compared to London. I travelled back and forth from London to LA for 3 years, just networking, putting things in place, until 3 years ago when I decided to make it a permanent move to LA. Since being in LA, I have been fortunate enough to work with some amazing executives including Max Gousse & Cory Rooney and artists such as Saweetie & Rich The Kid.
I believe my hustle, my passion and dedication is the reason I am still standing strong in this industry and it has helped me on a big level to achieve. The one thing I would say for any aspiring entrepreneur is network, network, network!!! Do not be afraid to reach out to anyone, and keep trying, it works, trust me! Networking is 80% of the reason I have got to this point in my career to date.
Right now I am working on some really exciting projects with my artists Alabama Barker & Too Jiggy, a few new business ideas in the entertainment world with a new business partner and spend the rest of my time consulting for artists and influencers who need help on certain areas of their career and also helping them to build out their businesses.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly, I would take them out of the city, down to the coast to some beautiful spots like Malibu, Laguna, Montecito etc. If they wanted to explore some more inner city vibes then I guess I would take them to some iconic spots like The Hollywood Sign, Hollywood Blvd, Rodeo Drive etc.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost my parents for always believing in everything I have wanted to do with my life and being my rock, guidance and support in every way. I would not have been able to do this without them! And just in general every amazing / influential person from the UK to the US that has helped push my career a little step further from mentors to acquaintances
