We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Rebecca Branda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Branda, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Curiosity – if we are curious about ourselves and the world, we open doors to both understand and connect with our authentic selves. Curiosity also opens our minds to different experiences and people enriching our lives and creating space for empathy and connection. This is an important value I share with my clients. When we stop accepting and start asking, we create room for growth and change. I’ve found that many of the successful women I work with accepted their place in work, at home, and in their relationships. But when they began to wonder, they surpassed their own expectations in ways that changed their lives.

What should our readers know about your business?
My practice focuses on women in business/tech. I help women integrate and accept all parts of their identity: the messy parts that make them feel like an imposter, and the beautiful parts that allow them to realize their capability and worthiness. What makes my practice unique is my own work experience in business/tech. Before becoming a psychologist, I worked for several large technology companies where I gained valuable insight that helps me connect more deeply with and support my clients. My practice also focuses on untangling the past and identifying how it is impacting the present. This work is done with intention and care. When I sit with a client, I am intentional about how I listen, how I speak, and what I observe. Doing so leaves space for growth and a deeper understanding of the self. I have found that my brand is based on this empowering depth work that has helped my clients succeed.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The best itinerary would be a mixture of my favorite restaurants and hikes/beach spots to connect with the beauty of Los Angeles. I would start with a drive up to Malibu where we would first stop and get a mouthwatering breakfast burrito at Country Kitchen. From there, we’d drive to Solstice Canyon to hike the trail and be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. After that, we’d cruise back to Santa Monica, pick up Bay Cities, and enjoy a peaceful picnic on the beach as we watch and listen to the waves crash against the shore. Finally, we’d cap off the night at Elephante with cocktails and small plates, and great conversation against a sunset backdrop.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have an amazing support system in my life, and I am so grateful to everyone who guided me along the way as I dreamed up the female-focused practice I run today. To those people – my family, friends, colleagues, and mentors — I would not be here today without you. I also want to shoutout all the badass women in my life, from strong female figures growing up to the phenomenal clients I see in my practice. I have learned so much from you and hope that you all know how deeply I care about you. A final shoutout goes to my husband, the man who has stood beside me as I walked the stage, as I moved to multiple new cities to pursue my dreams, and recently as I navigate my role as a working mom. Thank you!
