We had the good fortune of connecting with lindseyshreds and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi lindseyshreds, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Moments. Specifically being 100% in them.
I think as humans we tend to forget like 90% of the life we live, and hang onto that 10% that peaked our interest. i try to remember the feeling 10% gives me and fully connect with it. It could be sitting alone making my favorite breakfast or preforming in front of thousands of people. I live for that moment of feeling right there. It’s so rare because of all the premonitions and self-awareness, y’know?

Kinda annoying sometimes, so i love when it’s turned off.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well, i guess i’ll just start chronologically? I started off throwing shows with my DJ group in about 2016, and that’s what initially started off me just being an artist in general. I started off as a DJ and slowly trickled into the modeling/fashion world. I think that i mainly started off as a DJ just because i was good at making mixes and we all knew how to do it, hahaha. I still go back every once in a while just to impress myself, but i’m slightly tapped out of that realm. Around 2017-18, i had been in scouted for Street Vouge while at a festival. It was kinda crazy because i was like, “ What is this for? Street Vouge? Never heard of it, but sure!” I completely had no idea that i just did an impromptu vouge shoot, and then thought nothing of it really. Two months later i got booked by Versace to shoot for the F/W collection. Yeah, no idea how they found me, but i thought it was fake so i actually ignored it until they ended up contacting me the second time. It was such a heartwarming experience to start off with, but then i quickly learned how scum the fashion world can be if you don’t have an agent. They ended up ghosting me and never paying me, so as much as that was a really big first experience, it was also a wake up call at the same time. About a year went by and i started to do various shoots for all my local bay area brands that i f*cked with, but i started to reaaaaally get bored with DJing personally.

Well, i think it was more so that i wanted my own sound.

Around 2018, i ended up getting booked for Converse and found myself enjoying the modeling world a lot more as i was getting more experiences. Some light, some forgettable, but all good experience. I really put my head down for a while to make my first project “ Lack of Realism “.

I mix, master, engineer, and arrange everything myself. As i started to shy away from the modeling industry i started to really feel a way stronger sense of purpose by focusing on what i actually wanted. I learned how to do everything from scratch so my music is just different regardless if i want it to be or not, hahahaha. I don’t really know how to pin down my music so i guess i can more-so just say you’ll think it’s different. I feel like saying my thing is “this” and “this” is “this” and means this is so blah blah blah. Just listen to it if you want to contextualize it.

After making my first EP in 2020 i just spent most laying low and doing shoots and making music.

Also, i walked for NYFW in 2021!
Shouts out Tommy and everyone @ Tombogo.

Looking to getting into acting next. I’ve been doing a lot of shadow work in the last 6 years as an artist, and i know i’m just getting started. I’m finally getting better to the point i feel confident to show everyone my more fleshed out ideas. I think the biggest obstacle is having confidence in the arts that i actually care about. I can shoot or wear anything, but telling people how i feel over that mic is terrifying. I’m sacred to be viewed as melancholy or flawed, but i’m getting over it, hahaha.

Sorry if that was super bullet-pointy! A lot of ground to cover.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In the bay? Sheeeeeeeeesh.

I won’t lie, it mainly for the scenery and nature. We have a pretty cool art community but it’s pretty spread out at times. I won’t even lie to you, just get some HomeRoom mac and cheese and hit Ocean Beach. Big worth.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Haha, i love this section! Big shoutout to everyone that has ever paid attention to me. Big shoutout to my D.A family, wouldn’t be anywhere without them. Shoutout Peace & Adrian. Infinite love to Ilka.

Oooo, shoutout all my Juicy Black family too. I wouldn’t have even found the confidence to do this sh*t solo in such a short amount of time.

Shoutout to da family.
