We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianne Borden and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brianne, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
First, I’d like to share that as a business with three co-owners, we will all be answering these questions and providing our some team but also individual perspective! Brianne here to answer this one, as it’s one of my favorite things to talk about! The other two co-owners, Claire and Amelia, and I were each individually creating our own virtual presence teaching yoga for musicians. We were operating on instagram and youtube, and got to know each other in that virtual space first. When the pandemic hit, I personally felt deeply called to share yoga in community, but understood that it had to be virtual. I had just finished my dissertation, which was on yoga for musicians, so that was my top priority. I knew that Claire and Amelia were both doing similar things, so I asked if they’d be interesting in teaming up and offering virtual yoga for musicians! Of course, they were in, but it became so much bigger than I had ever dreamed. Our community gathered so authentically and vulnerably and we realized that this wasn’t just a temporary pandemic project, but something we really wanted to build and grow. And here we are almost three years later!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
1000% our community. Yoga for All Musicians would not exist without the incredible community that has come together to share our passion for wellness and music. I think what draws people to our community the most is our honesty about what being a professional musician is like. We share all of the joys, the pain, and the challenges. The group that we call our YAM Fam is full of musicians who aren’t afraid to dive deep into their bodies and minds and create awareness around their careers.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’re virtual!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When we began Yoga for All Musicians, we were all at pivotal moments of our lives. We each latched onto the book Untamed by Glennon Doyle, as it created space for personal healing, but also coming together to reflect. Additionally, we’ve had an incredible amount of support from friends and family since opening YAM. Our support system has been so uncondictional and we could not still be successful without them.
