We had the good fortune of connecting with Lola Khoram and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lola, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Success means so many different things to people, especially when you bring business into it. The success of Little Miss would look like fulfillment. I’ve been so grateful to everyone that has helped me along this never-ending journey. When starting Little Miss only at the beginning of October, the stars aligned for me to bring onto the team my two best friends. Not only do I get to start my own business which is a luxury in itself, but I’m now sharing it with people very close to my heart. I do not take any day for granted because I know how lucky I am to say that I own and run my business. The most important factor to the success of Little Miss would be sharing it with Los Angeles and being able to know that we are a part of a growing community of locals, friends and family.

What should our readers know about your business?
Nothing involving a business is going to be easy. Especially as a young woman, I face many people on a daily thinking they can tell me how to run my business. I am most proud that I turned a dream into a reality. It sounds easier said than done, but the biggest lesson I’ve learned is that the challenges never stop. Whether it be big or small, running a business comes with many surprises. It helps me to think of the millions of other people that are in the same boat and it makes my problems feel a bit less overwhelming. I want Little Miss to be a place of comfort and familiarity, the idea of us being someone’s coffee shop that they go to down the street makes me happy. I love seeing more and more regulars from the community join us.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For breakfast, Hanks Bagels, in the valley is where I find myself on my days off. They are a big inspiration for me as well being a family owned business. For lunch/dinner Tsujita Noodle in Sawtelle is my go-to dinner spot whenever we get off work and are hungry, I would follow the visit up with checking out the Japanese stores where we always get new Sonny Angels and Smiski dolls that we have scattered around the shop. Next door is also my favorite boba, Volcano tea house where I’ve been going since I was a child.
To end the night I would take them to Winnetka Bowl, my friends and I love to bowl and that’s our local spot when we find the time.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I know I sound redundant at this point but I can only think of my friends and family who deserve this shoutout the most. I would not be here answering these questions without their support. My dad is the reason my dream could truly become what Little Miss is today, and my friends are the reason we get to open our doors everyday. It truly takes a village, and Little Miss is proof of that.
