We had the good fortune of connecting with Lorenzo Taddei and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lorenzo, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
I would say that trusting the right people and having a good spirit of collaboration was something that contributed to my career in a very good way

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started playing guitar when I was 10 years-old, and after only one year I knew I wanted to become a professional musician. I studied at the Conservatory in Rome, Italy and won some national awards such as Premio Nazionale Chitarristico ‘Cittá di Celano’ and LazioSound Jazz Category. At 22 years-old I moved to the States to study at Berklee College of Music.  As a person from a different country, there were several opportunities that were much more challenging to get. I also have had to accept some level of sacrifice that comes with living in a different country from my family and many of my friends. I have learned the importance of being selfless when it comes to creating music with other people and how to value the unique strengths that my musical upbringing gives me. Now I live in Los Angeles, and I feel lucky to be able to work both as a session/touring guitarist, and a music producer.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Santa Monica and West Hollywood are my favorite spots in the city!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My colleagues and friends whom I do music with everyday makes this journey the best possible! Without them my music would me probably sitting only in my computer
