We had the good fortune of connecting with Anastasia & Dmitry Shevchenko and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anastasia & Dmitry, what do you attribute your success to?
Anastasia: Two essential points play a role here. First of all, it’s affordability. Our company manages to keep prices low compared with other California wedding photographers. We strive for every couple in love to have the opportunity to feel like the center of the universe on their wedding day and get fantastic photos and videos. A cheap wedding photographer is a rarity, and an experienced and cheap one is a dream. It is this dream that we embody in “”Sheff Production Photography & Videography.””

Another important factor is customer care. We surround them with maximum attention: we discuss every detail of their wedding photography in advance, offer many original ideas and locations, and even develop a backup plan in case of bad weather. Engagement and weddings are usually associated with many worries and sometimes fears. And we want a wedding or engagement photo shoot to not become an extra reason for stress in these already crazy days.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Dmitry: When my wife and I decided to get married, we wanted to organize the perfect celebration. And, of course, wedding photography was part of this dream. Unfortunately, the further the preparations for the event progressed, the more nervous we became: we wanted the photos to be touching and with a story, not just fake shots. So we have devoted a lot of time and effort to finding photographers close to us in spirit and perception of the wedding atmosphere. It was scary to lose or spoil the first moments of a new life together because of someone else’s inexperience or accident. But fortunately, everything worked out. It was easy and fun for us, and the photos were beautiful. But with the video, unfortunately, we were not so lucky. We didn’t like the videographer’s editing, and he disappeared in response to our comments. And, like, it’s been six years since the wedding, and we still get upset when we think about that moment.

We then realized that we wanted to open a company that would take full responsibility for the preparation and implementation of wedding and engagement photography and videography instead of lovers. For “”Sheff Production Photography & Videography”” the main idea is to provide customers with peace of mind at such important moments and not to let them down, not to turn memories into the year’s disappointment. So couples can relax, be themselves and enjoy the day, and we help them tell their story to descendants and the whole world.

Anastasia: Once, as a photographer, I participated in the project “The Plastic World has won.” The main idea of the project is what we leave behind for posterity. Suppose you think about it outside of ecology. In that case, you conclude that our family memories are inherited by the next generations, mainly through images – videos, and photographs. Therefore, wedding photography is essential not only for the couples themselves but also for their future children and grandchildren. The memory of such events is cherished and honored, so it is very important to capture in the frame all the touching moments of the celebration and preparation for it.

Elegance, creativity, romance, sentimentality – our photos can differ depending on customers’ wishes. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Anastasia: First of all, I am a family person, so I appreciate activities together and fresh air. So I would take everyone to hike from Griffith Park to the Griffith Observatory. We would also definitely go to The Grove, and then we would grab a drink and snack in Farmers Market, or we could go to Koreatown for dinner. I also like to drive from Los Angeles to San Francisco. This is one of the most scenic routes in California, where every point on the map can attract attention. For example, the city of Solvang impresses with its architecture, and Big Sur with its mountain landscapes.

Dmitry: Since we are young parents, we like to spend time with our child in amusement parks. So our guests will undoubtedly visit Universal Studios Hollywood or Disneyland with us. And for a nice beach day with the family, I recommend Huntington Beach. From museums, I like The Broad and The Getty Villa. Finally, I would add some wine tours to this plan since there are many good wineries in California.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Dmitry: When you do wedding photography in Los Angeles, it seems to many people that you must have some mentors or sponsors. But we came to everything on our own, through many attempts and mistakes. However, this does not mean that we do not feel gratitude. On the contrary, we have always been inspired by life, love in the air, and, of course, the people themselves – romantic, happy, and brave.
