Meet Alicia McIntosh | Women’s Health and Fitness Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alicia McIntosh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alicia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind creating a women’s health and fitness brand/business was to help other women in need of direction.
I accumulated a lot of information through formal and informal education. Through this process, I learned about my body, and I decided to share this knowledge that has transformed the lives of women around me. I realized there was a lack of understanding and misconceptions about health and fitness in my community, and I wanted to help change that narrative.
As I educated myself and others about health and wellness, I learned more individuals started gravitating towards movement and better eating habits, and beneficial wellness choices overall. Access to this information created self-awareness that then translated to healthier lifestyles.
I also wanted to impact a positive community by promoting healthy living and empowering women to take control of their health and fitness journey. I encourage/encouraged women to honor where they are while improving those areas of opportunity.
Since my goal was always to help others, this has been a great way to bridge my passion for health and fitness and make it a career.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I specialize in coaching women. I create an environment to help the women I work with to ensure they care for their minds and bodies as they nurture everything around them. We can lose ourselves in the fast pace of life, motherhood, work, etc. My specialty is making sure women show up for themselves! In my process, I help with behavioral modifications as well as body transformations. My method is designed to diminish limiting beliefs while reaching health/fitness goals. Working in this way helps to create a conscious living that affects all areas of my clients’ lives and, in return, create a better quality of life.
I’m proud of the awareness my clients gain. I help women learn to see themselves at every stage of themselves. I want them to understand that it’s okay to have goals but not to associate self-image and worthiness with an exterior attachment.
Creating and working on my brand has taught me so much about myself, like my willingness to show up no matter what. I’ve learned many lessons, and I have many lessons to go, lol. My driving force and passion is to create change and impact in my community and, most of all, representation! Health and fitness isn’t a “one size fits all”! It’s for EVERYBODY! And everyone deserves to have access to a better quality of life.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned as I’ve grown in the health and fitness industry is to define what it means to me. Knowing what I stand for in such a diverse industry has been essential to my growth. My reason extends far beyond any external motivation, which keeps me passionate!
I’m here to create change! Our mindset is everything, and like anything else, it’s a learned skill. The more we pour into ourselves by taking action, the more we build the confidence to go after what we want!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ohhhh, of course, I would plan to start every day with something active to set the intention for our day. I would lead some workouts at some local gyms here in Miami, from Boxr to Miami Strong, and on days we want something different, we would go to Barrys for intense HIIT and or Sol Yoga for pilates and yoga. We would also do outdoor running or biking by the water to enjoy Miami weather.
Miami is rich with an active lifestyle that I love, of course! I would take her to some of my favorite lunch spots, like Red rooster Lemoni Cafe Little Hen, to grab a bite after our workouts. We would need two beach days minimum. Nikki beach and Key Biscayne by the aquarium would be my go-to spots. I have a hidden gem that I love that overlooks a beautiful part of the city!
There we would set up food books, journals, a spot to meditate, etc.!
The spa is a must for us, either The Standard or Carillon Wellness Resort. The amenities at Carillon are lovely, and it’s a wellness resort with the best steam therapy. I would also take her to a few great restaurants with great food and beautiful views, like Klaw or Rosa Sky. At Klaw, we’d indulge in seafood, and at Rosa sky, the signature drink The Rosa Sky. The scenery and food at both places are just yummy! One last dinner spot Coopers Hawk, any location. She would appreciate all that wine!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes to all my incredible clients. Not only have they allowed me to gain insight into their worlds, but they have all inspired me in so many ways. It’s been an honor to have a front-row seat in the lives of such diverse, dynamic women. It’s been a privilege and a gift both ways. I also have an excellent support system of friends and family who encourage me.
I have so much love around me I’m thankful for them. My people keep me aligned with my purpose and make sure that I see my strengths and opportunities so that I grow. Personal development is essential to me. There have been many books, seminars, and online mentors and friends that have helped expand my wisdom and perspective toward life.
Some favorite reads are The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, The Four Agreements, How to Win Friends Influence People, and Rich Dad Poor Dad, to name a few. I am constantly finding ways to uncover new information to help my views on life while defining myself and being proactive about what I believe in.
I also love my girl Oprah and Michelle Obama, of course! The stories of others are one of my favorite parts of being a coach! We are all here to teach each other “In learning we teach, and in teaching, we learn”! And the best shoutout goes to God!
