I believe there is an enormous pressure that many entrepreneurs face when first starting their projects or brands, which is defining exactly what your project is or what your mission and vision is. Today’s “hustle” culture often pushes that women can “have it all” and that we simultaneously need to have the most successful career while being the best mother. I think this concept is secretly killing entrepreneurial women everywhere. We are constantly trying to “have it all” but where is this “mysterious” balance between success and family that people always talk about? The one that says we can be great at everything only if we try harder and sleep less? I think it’s an unrealistic standard that no one can actually reach. Read more>>

I often hear the advice: “just do it.” To take the leap of faith and start selling art. Although I agree that action is better than waiting for an opportunity, “just do it” carries a vague pressure and expectation that a prospective business owner might not be ready for. “Just do what? How do I do that? I did it, but I people did not like or react to my it.” Read more>>

Waiting until you’re ready. I think you have to just go for it and move. You waiting for a sign may never happen… or when you think it’s a sign you double and triple guess and never move forward. I recall being told as a child that the creative more unconventional career choices I had weren’t financially feasible. I was very intrigued by interior design, art, creative writing, & fashion design; however I was strongly discouraged from attending college for these things. Read more>>
