Meet Sydney-Lake Bradley | Child Actor and Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sydney-Lake Bradley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sydney-Lake, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I like creating and being different characters through story telling . Acting lets me become different characters and a part of a story on the big screen. I love being on TV and in movies and I’m working hard towards a leading role.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a child actress and model. I like to know as much about the character I’m reading for as possible, that way I can actually become that character. Feel what that character feels and see what that character sees. That way I’m not “acting, “ I’m just being that natural person. I’m most proud and excited of booking the role in my movie that just came out, IMANI, written by Tu-Shonda Whitaker and Amaleka McCall Brathwaite, at AMC theaters and on BET+. IMANI is an action movie starring Brittany S. Hall and Demetrius Shipp, Jr., directed by Mike Ho and produced by Manny Halley and Imani Media group.. I played a supporting role as the lead characters’s daughter, Jada Newford. I was invited directly to the table read to audition. I was the only child there in a room full of adult actors. I felt excited and confident. I did great and booked the part. I’ve put in a lot of hard work doing classes, private coaching, and practicing at home. I’ve been on episodic tv, done national commercials including Audi USA,, been in music videos including one with the artist H.E.R., and modeled for numerous print job including billboards in New York for Google. I’ve done a lot of auditions. 100’s of auditions. Just knowing one day I’m going to book the big one keeps me going.. The lessons I’ve learned are to never give up and to always be ready, What is meant for me will be mine. I want the world to know that even though I’m a child actor, I work as hard as an adult actor and I’m talented enough to handle a lead role in a movie.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First I would take them to Universal Studios for the day. After a day of fun I would take them to the Grove and eat at the Cheesecake Factory and have “Birthday Cake” cheesecake for dessert. For the next few days I’d take them to Disneyland and California Adventure to ride rides, eat yummy foods and hang out with Mickey and Minnie of course. I’m an Orange County girl, so I would take them to Balboa Island where we drive our car onto the ferry and go across to Newport Beach, the best beach ever. We’d spend the day having a picnic on the beach, playing in the water, building sandcastles, and watching the dolphins go by in the water. Then we’d go to Crescent Bay, where my mom and dad take me, to watch the sunset.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my mother and my acting coach/teacher.. My mother constantly encourages me and supports my dream. She’s worked hard in helping get my classes and coaches for acting. She’s helped me get the most amazing team of agents and managers. She helps me learn my lines for auditions and booked roles. She makes sure I have a balanced schedule of school, acting, fun, and friends. She builds me up even through all the “No’s”, celebrates me through the “Yes’”, and helps me get even closer to my goals. My acting coach/teacher, Danielle Vernengo, has worked with me for almost 4 years now teaching me amazing skills in making me a better actress. She’s been available morning, noon, and night to me in person, through Zoom, and on the phone. She wants me to win as much as my parents and I want me to win, and I’m so thankful for her.
