Meet Moody Bank$ | Singer, Songwriter, & Multitalented Creative.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Moody Bank$ and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Moody, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is being myself, and trusting my vision. In the music industry it’s extremely important to have enough confidence in yourself to know that what you’re doing will be successful. A lot of people will try to persuade you into veering into their vision, and if you’re not confident in yourself you could easily become something that you never intended to be. I believe that the most important part of being an artist is creating something new and creating a pure lane for yourself regardless of what other may think in the beginning, because that is what makes art beautiful and successful. The uniqueness that you bring into the world.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Identified by my smokey alto sound and lo-fi R&B production, Ive created a sonic world to fit any mood. Having grown up in California, Ive adopted a classic “west coast” sound marked by funky bass-lines, 808s, and classic R&B samples. More than that, I’m most proud of being an ever-evolving powerful woman unafraid to cross boundaries and break barriers. I believe that I lead by example in standing out against following others, and am firm in creating a lane for myself and staying genuine to my gifts. The journey hasn’t been easy by any means, but God has given me the confidence and persistence to keep going. I know that everyone will be rewarded in the right time if they do not give up. I believe that the biggest lesson that I’ve learned along the way is being authentically vulnerable and including powerful messages in my music. My story is relatable to others by being real, and I think that it is extremely important to spread knowledge throughout my music and to always influence people in a positive way.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When I am not hanging out in the studio, my favorite place to visit in LA is my grandmothers house. I love going back home, and visiting my family. They give me life and a day spent with my family recharges me with energy for the next month to come. The next spot that I would take a visitor would be Malibu to see the beach. I think that the most beautiful part of being in La is getting access to such beautiful beaches, and nature. Next we would go eat at the boiling crab, because that is my favorite place. The food is so good, and the atmosphere is even better.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shoutout to all of the people who have helped me along my journey and believed in my vision. Huge shoutout to my band, Tevin, Johntae, Blake, Jacob, and Lunar, for understanding me, loving me, and always helping me bring my music to life. I also would like to give a shoutout to my fans for connecting with my music, and granting me the ability to connect with them on a spiritual and emotional level. I would also like to shoutout Noah Fendz for the support that he has given me, and allowing me to be myself. Lastly, I would like to give a shoutout to my manager Simone Furhman, and agency OnRecordLA for believing in me, and helping me get to that next level.
