We had the good fortune of connecting with George Mathews and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi George, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
What sets Smash Coast apart is our unwavering commitment to putting creatives in the best possible position to succeed with their music. Our executives are highly accessible to our team and offer consultation and guidance when needed. This makes us truly unique in the industry. We firmly believe that our success is only as good as the people on our team.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Established in 2009, Smash Coast Music is a unique music licensing company and music creator collective located in Los Angeles. Our company offers a wide range of music genres and styles to the media industry, but we specialize in creating customized urban music. With thousands of music placements across various media platforms, Smash Coast holds a distinctive position in the sync industry. We work closely with our creative team on a daily basis, which enables us to provide personalized options and faster turnaround times. No other company can match our ability to handle bespoke urban music like we do.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a special shoutout to my business partner, Kim Williams, who serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Smash Coast Music. While I could easily praise Kim’s exceptional work ethic and impressive business skills, what truly sets her apart is her outstanding character. Kim is the kind of person you always want on your team, as she has an unwavering loyalty to those she works with. Additionally, she’s a force to be reckoned with, as few can match her tireless work ethic. As the backbone of our organization, Kim is undoubtedly one of the most skilled and accomplished Sync Licensing professionals in the industry!
