Rising stars and the most important lessons they’ve learned

We asked some brilliant folks from the community to tell us about the most important lesson their business or career has taught them. We’ve shared some of those responses below.

Patience. I think in the entertainment industry it is extremely important to be patient. There have been times when I have felt like giving up after giving so many auditions and never hearing back. The most important lesson I have learned in my business is to not be afraid to take risk. The initial insecurities that I experience held me back to many opportunities, until I decided to just go for it. If risks are not taken, I’ll miss out on positive outcomes. I started my career in filmmaking when I was in ninth grade which was six years ago. Since then I have worked on over 50 films as a cinematographer in my career and each project taught me a different skill.
