We had the good fortune of connecting with Octavius Luke and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Octavius, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I always think about the risk. Whenever you share your art with the world you never know what type of reaction you’ll receive. People may not like whatever it is that you share with them. I typically worry about the risk for a little then I ignore it because I want to gain the genuine support from the art that I put out whether it’s clothing or photography so I can continue to appreciate and reciprocate the love to those supporters.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets my art (clothing and photography) apart from others is that is a unique mixture of streetwear, lifestyle and vintage. I experiment with with the balance of that mixture a lot. It’s a lot of work. A majority of it is trial and error but I love the process.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
You can never go wrong with visiting the short north. Lots of fun places with great food. There’s always something to do or stumble across there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout all of my supporters for the continued support and love that keeps me motivated to share my art with the world.
