We had the good fortune of connecting with Clarissa Karagosian and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Clarissa, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“ Somewhere out there, he is training while I am not. And when we meet, he will win.”

This quote has been fuel for me on the days that I didn’t have the energy, drive or fire in me to give my 110%. The days that I was self doubting or not believing in myself, repeating this helped me push through the negative thoughts and feelings and push myself through whatever felt too hard or too beyond my abilities. I like the fire it ignites in me, and those who refer to it daily..

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a colorist, Stylist, and Barber. I own a hair salon in Echo Park, called ClarsHairs! My communication and energy sets me apart from other talented individuals in my industry. My ability to connect and make others feel safe and comfortable in my space is always my main goal – as well as maintaining the integrity and health of their hair and educating them on upkeep to make it as simplified as possible to wake up every day, loving their hair, and feeling better about themselves.!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to my favorite coffee shop, Bohemian Chai in Dtla- a place that I see your creatively inspire dad and meet some of the coolest people in downtown! I would then go through the Jewelry District, and get inspired by the energy of the area. And of course I would take them over to echo park to visit my salon and meet the talented stylists occupying the space!
