We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Machorro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel, what do you attribute your success to?
Discipline must always be present. a lot of my progress has been made by myself having a good organization on time and also being always ready for everything, if I have to learn something I will become a Sponge, if i have to create i will bring all my skills to the table, If i have to record I will be ready before the session. DISCIPLINE is the most important part of my success and that also reflects on the people that I work with, they know i am a hardworking and professional musician.

The other factor involved in my success is LOVE for what i do, I really feel a huge passion when it comes to music, it has been my whole life for the last decade.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve been in the music business for almost ten years now, performing with big bands (Mexico & USA), recording guitars for more than 30 different projects (albums and EP’s), producing and co-writing with lots of artists (more than 200 studio hours in the last 6 months.

It was not easy to get here, I would say that most of the things that I’ve done happened 50% because of my musical skills and the other 50% just being a good person, respectful and disciplined.

the most important thing that I’ve learned is that all of my decisions happen for a reason. I don’t regret ANYTHING that I’ve done, because I had to be on some difficult situations to LEARN. Experience is everything.

I would like to share that I come from a little town called Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas. Mexico. and there is not a lot of music related stuff back there, I would love to put my name on top representing mexico.

I’ve been on tour once in my life and also had a couple of writing camps outside of Mexico and USA

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would go to the docks, somewhere close to the charles river, it is my meditation place and it is really chill. beautiful view and also an amazing talk can be held there. i’ve had some good deep talks by the side of the charles river.

Also eat some nice lobster rolls.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout would be to all the people that has worked along with me, mostly friends, family and MENTORS. I am always learning from the people that is around me. I wouldn’t really be able to work as professionally as I do if i didn’t have the guide of all my friends and mentors.
