We had the good fortune of connecting with Xavier Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Xavier, what do you attribute your success to?
One of the key to success, is to have a strong team working with you and have your best interest at heart. Cause no man is an island, no man stands alone.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started Modeling back in Kingston, Jamaica. It was not easy at all Modeling in Jamaica, due to the fact that we did not have the market for it. The only way you would have a shot of being a successful Model is to be sign with one of the Top Agency in the Caribbean. And even when you are with a top agency. 9 out of 10 will not make it.

So I took it up on myself to make my career my choice. I moved out of Jamaica into the US and push myself every more to show the agency’s back home that I can make it without there help.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The best thing about NY is there is so much place to go, it’s hard to pick. But I will go with Harlem and the winner. Only because the food, the music and the people is on a different level and there is always something to do when you are there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to give shoutout to my High School English teacher (Miss Minott) and now friend. Who had encourage me to pursue my passion as a Model. Also my friends and a few family members. For also being in my corner supporting me no matter what.
