We had the good fortune of connecting with Lavinia Aghakhani and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lavinia, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I would say persistence has been the main defining factor in the success of L&K Elegance, my hand-crafted nature jewelry business. From its inception, we have displayed unwavering determination in pursuing our vision of bringing nature to the wearer. Despite the challenges and obstacles that arose, we persisted with our commitment to craftsmanship and exceptional customer service. This has allowed us to grow in many ways such as the quality, variety, and availability of our work. Like any business, we have had our highs and lows, but by continuously striving for excellence, adapting to market trends, and fostering strong customer relationships, our persistence has paved the way for L&K Elegance’s growth. As with anything, it takes time. As a fairly young company, I believe we have done well establishing our work as a trusted brand, yet we still have a long way to go!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My sister and I created L&K Elegance to combine our passions for nature and fashion. Although jewelry made with real flowers is not all that commonly found, what distinguishes our work is the combination of quality, comfort, and a minimalist, elegant aesthetic that embraces a natural look. We are always prioritizing comfort and a genuine appearance. We mainly use gold-plated materials and a very high-grade resin, which is durable and has an enhanced shine, making our final product clear and with a lustrous finish. Additionally, we handcraft the majority of our jewelry frames using high-quality wire, ensuring that our pieces are exceptionally lightweight and comfortable for prolonged wear throughout the day.

As with anything, we’ve also had our share of roadblocks and difficulties. Aside from learning and perfecting the resin jewelry craft, the most challenging aspect of it all was starting a business. I didn’t know anything about the legalities of running a business and so this was something I had to figure out myself. And I would say I still have much to learn in this aspect.

Our goal is to bring our work to as many people as we can and to always remind our wearers that they are as unique and as beautiful as nature!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Since I wasn’t born and raised in LA I am still exploring much of it myself. Of the places I’ve been to, some of my favorites would be the Descanso and Huntington Gardens. I would also love to plan a picnic at Castaic Lake or attend their Boat Cinema event. As for food places, I would recommend Smashed and Ike’s Love & Sandwiches in downtown Burbank followed up by some movies at the nearby AMC. Boba Time would also be a must.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family is another great contributor to the success of our brand. My mother and father often lend a hand to us and help in many ways. My partner also has been a great source of motivation for me. With his encouragement, I am able to push past hardships and my personal fears. Most of all I’d like to recognize my younger sister who has been my business partner since the beginning. She is as much a part of the company as I am and L&K Elegance would not be where it is today without her. I must also thank all of my relatives, friends, and clients who’ve been supporting and cheering us on.
