Meet Terrance Silas | Auto Motive, Boat, Aircraft, and Furniture Upholster with the ability to design clothes, purses, and handbags.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Terrance Silas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Terrance, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was tired of working for someone else and was ready to pave my own way. I’m a furniture and automotive upholsterer by trade.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Furniture and Automotive upholsterer by trade. I have 35+ years of experience. What sets me apart from other upholsterers is that I’m not one dimensional I learned all aspects of upholstery even Boat, aircraft, and Commercial Seatings. It was hard fresh out of Job Corps working for other companies, but I hung in there to gain experience to launch my own operation. I want the world to know that I’m not just an upholsterer, through my Sewing skills and remembering what my mentor told me that upholstery are also top semesters, once you learn these skills you can teach yourself, how to design clothes and other items like purses, backpacks, Jackets and more. For the past 10 years I have been creating my own products and selling them.
Now my very near future goal is to create my own training program for youth and pay my skills forward to the next generation.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I don’t hang out much, but I would take my best friend to visit 49er stadium he loves the niners. Then we would hang out around golden gate park and frequent the bars and eateries in the area. Then we would go to fisherman’s wharf to hang out have fun and meet great people.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes!!! Los Angeles Lob Corps the place where I pick up my upholstery and craft skills under the leadership of the most important man I ever met! my mentor James Washington JR. He taught me everything I know about the upholstery Field.
