We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana Verdesoto and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Diana, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to be able to be as creative as I wanted to be, choose my own products, my own facial menu and space to provide the best possible experience. I also wanted to have the flexibility to and choice to be there for my daughter. I started my business when she was 1, I didn’t want to miss any firsts and spend the most time with her.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m a licensed Esthetician, I offer facials, chemical peels, lash lifts and waxing. My goal is to make each look and feel as beautiful as they are. I am constantly learning and investing into my business to be able to give my best to my clients.
I started working from home out of the bedroom that my daughter and I shared and I had business cards printed on regular copy paper. I promoted myself as much as I could until I built up enough clientele to get a solo suite. After that I found a beautiful hair salon in Claremont to work out of. Being in a salon, I was able to grow my clientele more and further invested into my business, constantly taking courses to prefect my craft. During the pandemic the salon I was renting my room, went up for sale. My mom and I jumped on the opportunity to own a hair salon together. My mom is a hairstylist and we’ve always dreamed of working together.
There were many challenges that I was faced with, both in business and in my personal life, but my clients and the deep connections/friendships I’ve made have kept me pushing.
I learned that mindset is everything. When you think positive, you attract more positivity. When you focus on your blessings, more come. You can’t succeed without a positive attitude and believing in yourself, even when no one else does. I have a guide I created for anyone interested in becoming an Esthetician, that talks about everything I’ve learned in the 7 years being an Esthetician and what I wish I would’ve known starting out.
My brand and my work is dedicated to my two beautiful daughters, they are the most precious thing in my life, and everything I do, I do for them.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would go to el torrito brunch, have bottom less mimosas there and hangout at the Claremont village.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shot out to my family and my clients for always believing me and supporting me from day 1, always happy to see me achieve something. My two daughters have given me so much motivation. My goal is to reach that them by believing in yourself, working hard and never giving up, you can achieve your wildest dreams.
