We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabe Tzeo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabe, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting your own business is not the easiest thing to do. It’s about seeing a dream become a reality. When you can breathe life into that idea. Then it will come to life.

I took what I knew about connecting with people and applied it to the beginning phases of my business.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The last 11 years of sharing the gift of photography to people has been a blast. I’ve gotten to help people see who they are, capture moments that last, bringing life into a vision, and helping others their branding on platforms. It’s been so powerful!

The things that sets me apart is I invested a lot of time on learning how to pose clients and models, providing quality over quantity, and I do a debrief at the end of my shoots to receive the highs and lows from the session. This way I can invest more into the client and the value of the service.

Everything I do is inspired by the Spirit of God.

The beet thing that happened this year is getting featured in 2 magazines, Genzo and 6X.

I am excited to work with some amazing clients coming up and some have a lot influence on social media. The coolest thing is getting to connect with them and seeing them for who they are.

The only way I achieved the success I have now is my grit and faith in Jesus. It was hard at times. It was so hard at one point I wanted to stop it all. I overcame this by having many individuals supporting and encouraging me. I learned that having a counsel of saints helps you make decisions when they become important and having mentors you serve.

Sonship Photography is not a normal photography business. It’s has the ability to help people discover their unique and innovative ideas. Every people will learn to be comfortable in their skin and in front of the camera. Every client and model leaves changed and stronger than before.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first thing I would do is take them to the Capitol building. Since I live in the capitol city. Then would explore the downtown historical district. As we go down there are many shops like Top Drawer, Reed Opera House, Riverfront Park, Minto Brown Park, and the carousel. After that going to eat at Happy Bibimpab House.

We’ll a full day in Portland one of the days in the week. Then another day in the week going on a hike at Silver Falls.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would say Revival Church and it’s leaders helped a lot in my journey. Without them I would have given up.
