Meet Andrea Ng | Glo Media Founder & Managing Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Ng and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrea, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I realized quickly that the conventional 9-5 office job just wasn’t for me. I began freelancing during my corporate job and had the desire to become a digital nomad, and when I got too busy with freelancing I knew in my gut that it was time to start my own business and build a team. I wanted the freedom to travel and time to spend with my loved ones.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Glo Media is officially turning 7 this year! We’ve been a boutique digital agency that does it all since day one, and that’s what has set us apart in the industry. Not only do we offer Public Relation services but Social Media, Graphic Design, Website and UX Design as well. Almost every team member has graphic design skills and makes an effort to learn new skills from one another.
We are most known for our restaurant clients but what many people don’t know is that we started off in the automotive industry. Our diverse team allows us to specialize in all different industries including hospitality, automotive, products and services.
The toughest thing about the digital space is navigating through all the updates and algorithm changes, and seeing what benefits each client the most. However, actively using each platform myself has allowed me to advice and educate my team more efficiently and make sure we’re always at the forefront of all updates.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mentor, Monti Samuel. Monti was my old boss when I was working retail selling designer wedding dresses. She owned multiple businesses and when she walked into the room, it would be all eyes on her. She saw a spark in my that even I didn’t know I had at the time. Her work ethic, authenticity, and grace is what I look up to and strive to achieve.
