We had the good fortune of connecting with Darren Weiss and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Darren, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think when it comes to taking risk’s, it all has to be calculated. For me taking risks has completely changed my life and career to what i have always wanted and imagined for myself. Without taking risk and staying in your comfort zone you’ll never get to where you want to be.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think the thing i’m most proud of is Producing and playing the lead in a film called ‘Break’, which people will be able to see later this year. I couldn’t have made it through with out each and everyone involved from start to finish. It took a lot of sacrafice, dedication and hardwork and pushing through when you think you’ve reached you’re breaking point. The mind is a powerful thing that is capable of more than what we think our limit as individuals is.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’d definitely hike Runyon Canyon. We’d get some weekend hoops going up at my buddy Danny’s place. From there Id want to take him/her to the grove for some food, shopping, walking around and probably end the trip with dinner at none other than Craigs.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I think having and keeping your circle small is the key to success. You have to have like minded people with the same aspirations as you that are willing to sometimes tell you what you don’t want to hear in order to not only better you but also further you in where you’re trying to go. It really does take a village to be successful and I couldn’t have been where I am today without the likes of my family and friends. If you’re reading this you know who you are.
