Meet GIN | Hip-Hop & Amapiano Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with GIN and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi GIN, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Persistence! Persistence is key and fundamental to any business. As well as following my passion. Doing what makes me happy and sticking to it. There will be people who disagree or who don’t want to support. I just learned to push them to the side and keep focusing on myself and my craft. And most of all keep going!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started in the music industry as a street promoter and then became a booking agent. I would make music but I didn’t take it seriously until my first album titled “Spiritual Bars” dropped in 2018. This album helped me tour the Middle East, South Africa, East Europe as well as helped develop my brand and sound. Now, in 2023 I have four independently released albums my recent album titled “La Dolce Vita” is now available in all streaming platforms and was released on June 6, 2023.
I think the most important lesson in doing music is being yourself. Being original and being creative. People are attracted to authenticity. Also, to surround yourself with people who really care and support you. People who will return your calls, texts, emails, messages, etc. People who share your music and play your music. All that matters.
GIN is a Hip-hop and Amapiano artist from Los Angeles, California born and raised. I have a unique sound that is positive, soulful and uplifting. Elevate is one of my recent singles and the video was filmed in Durban, South Africa. I have South African Zulu Dancers in the video. Also my newest single is “Beats and The Sauce” and the video was filmed in Pamukkale, Turkey in the ancient Roman city of Hieropolis and its thermal travertine pools. Both songs were produced by T-Man SA. Check them out on my Youtube Channel: The Real Gin. Also make sure to listen to the following albums Spiritual Bars, GIN, Birds of a Feather and La Dolce Vita all available on streaming platforms.
In addition, to making music. I developed merchandise under the Spiritual Bars brand. I have authentic gemstone bracelets, handmade soaps and candles. Which are all available at spiritualbars.com
In terms of my touring schedule, I toured South Africa earlier this year and which I did the Parktown Festival in Durban and I plan on visiting Turkey again this year to kick off the “Beats and The Sauce Tour.”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was here visiting we would go to a Rooftop Bar in Orange County and bar hop the area. Or I would take my best friend to Hollywood and do Karaoke at the Saddleback Ranch on Tuesdays. Also another cool place to check out is Barney’s Beanery in West Hollywood or the Highlight Room at Dream Hotel. The cool thing about being in Southern California is there are so many options. It’s really based on what you like and where you want to hang out at.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family deserves the most credit. They believe in me and support my endeavors.
