We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyne Stecklein and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tyne, what are you inspired by?
I am inspired by human emotion. As an actress and dancer not only do I love to express my emotions through my art, but I love that I can inspire an emotion, new perspective, or sense of liveliness in another with my art. All art is such a connection point from one to another, and this really excites me.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m always looking to evolve my storytelling expression and continue growing as a performer. I initially moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a professional dancer but quickly dove into the craft of acting and in the past 5 years have submersed myself into fine art in addition. Having more than one art form where I can express myself not only sets me apart from others, but keeps me feeling constantly creative and inspired. I believe all art informs other art. Life experiences also greatly inform my art. I always want to be as authentic to myself in my artistic express as I can. I dive fully into my crafts to be truthfully connected to the stories I tell. I want my work to inspire others to find their unique voice and talents. I believe in crafting a life that love, even when a road map for your unique story hasn’t been laid out in front of you yet. We can make our own miracles.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a mother to two young boys (age 4+2) my idea of the best time ever now includes calm, intention, rejuvenation and inspiration. My absolute favorite thing to do is head to the beach for a relaxing day in the sun. I recently surfed for the first time and loved every second, so I would possibly take a friend out to my local beach in Topanga to catch a wave or two. We would then go out to one of my favorite restaurants, Malibu Farm Cafe for a healthy and delicious meal. We would then go to the Will Geer to see a wonderful night of Shakespeare where you are surrounded by the amazing scenic views of Topanga Canyon. I then would enjoy a filet mignon at Mastro’s Ocean Club, again by the beach. I also love to hike surrounded by beautiful nature. And going to the spa for a nice massage where I try to empty my mind and reset for some relaxation is a favorite way I like to treat myself or a loved one.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out my love and gratitude to both of my parents, Andra and Dean Stecklein for always supporting and encouraging me and my artistic dreams!
