We had the good fortune of connecting with David Warren and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi David, what makes you happy? Why?
Dance and friends make me happy because the community keeps me inspired to keep going and do what i love ,dance gives me a method of expressing myself through movement

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I engage in a diverse array of artistic expressions, including dance, singing, acting, and drawing. My creative endeavors are all about expressing myself in multifaceted ways. What truly sets me apart is my unwavering personality and boundless drive. I’m a firm believer in spreading positivity, even during moments when I might not feel positive myself. I choose not to burden others with my problems, often finding my own solutions.

But what also makes me unique is my origin. I come from from a small town Hot Springs in Arkansas. Few people from the South, especially my hometown, venture into the world of art and self-expression. My journey is even more unusual because I was born in California, transitioning from a place steeped in modernity to one marked by racism and homophobia. I’ve faced these challenges head-on, experiencing a lot, some of it deeply traumatic.

I’ve endured unthinkable events, from surviving rape to being hit by a car and even being robbed at gunpoint where i was forced to drive into the woods where i was shot at and left in the woods to die . These are not experiences you’d guess by looking at me, for I’ve chosen to lead with positivity and kindness. I believe the universe has kept me here for a reason, perhaps to share my story and inspire others beyond the trauma.

Throughout my life, I’ve grappled with toxic friendships, often giving more than I received. As a people person, I’ve made many friends, but not all have been genuine. I overlooked their flaws in hopes they’d change, a coping mechanism rooted in my traumatic past. It took me a while to realize my own worth and that I deserved genuine connections.

Now, I’m in a new chapter of self-discovery, learning to love and accept myself while finding peace in solitude. This doesn’t mean I treat people poorly; I’m still the same kind person. I’ve simply become more discerning about who enters my inner circle. In addition to my personal growth, I’m pursuing various endeavors, including launching a streetwear athletic clothing brand, educating myself about day trading, and aiming to provide for my family.

I was adopted by my grandmother at birth, alongside my five siblings. Despite our modest means, my grandma provided us with a wonderful childhood. My family has endured struggles, but my ultimate goal is to remove that burden and give back to both my loved ones and the community. My clothing brand represents making the impossible possible, defying the odds, and inspiring others to do the same. It merges my passions for fashion and dance, ensuring that dancers have stylish yet functional attire to empower their artistry

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
if i was to form a week long i itinerary for me, and a friend who is visiting LA for the first time I would deathly for one take them to the viewpoint on Mulholland Drive at night playing Holly Humberstone to start off so they get a view of how beautiful the city is and it’s my favorite spot to come when i need to refresh

since I’m a dancer, I would encourage them to visit in Millennium Dance Complex were some of the most iconic videos to ever touch the Internet pertaining to dance have originated and where they continue to grow aspiring dancers to be legends so maybe we might take a class

then I would take us to Malibu to just have a beach day and enjoy the peace because I feel as though Santa Monica and Venice are overcrowded

I would also wanna have a whole day to show my visiting friend the current friend that I have acquired in LA they have kept me going, and have become a major part of my life

we would definitely have to Saturday to just go thrift thing out in LA because sometimes in some places I can get expensive but with me I know the right spots to go to so that way you get a lot of bang for your buck

leading out towards the end of the trip I will take them to a fancy restaurant like cheesecake factory, or saddle Ranch or sugar factory thing, as though there are some of LA‘s most popular spots to eat in some of my personal favorites because I have a sweet tooth

depending on the time of the year that they come, I would like to take them to a rage room, or an escape room, or something fun like that
other than that i would leave 1-2 fulls open to do whatever they want to do

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
my family and my friends are my drive so they have kept me motivated enough to keep doing , along with all the teachers that have helped me throughout the years
