We had the good fortune of connecting with Rashawn Simmons and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rashawn, how do you think about risk?
I feel like the only way to really get a head in life is to take risk! We all come to a point when we realize it’s time, wether it be a big job promotion in another state, starting a business or like me moving from VA to LA on a very small modeling contract. You don’t know what that other side looks like but it’s on you to take that risk to see! And more than likely you come out better than if you had played it safe

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Things were getting stagnant for me in VA until one of my friends Craig James bought a camera and we got together and unknowingly sparked this whole new version of me! Long story short I kept going with it until I was able to get a contract in LA and boom! 7 years later a gang of tv shows, commercials, modeling etc. I think what separates me from others is my drive! I say what I’m going to do and I do what I’m going to say no matter how crazy the idea! Before leaving VA me and my bro (Marcus Walker) also started an organic/eco friendly clothing line called EcoLeisure Brand clothing. Basically I’ve overcame the challenges of being regular, which just wasn’t me! The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is to listen to me! And what I want the world to know about me is I’m here, in the biggest way! Built for it all!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Not going to lie, LA has so much going on I’m still picking things off of eventbright lol! But one place I do like to go for drinks and vibes is Venice beach! It’s always some interesting people out there, the food is ok but I’m more for the vibes. Night time I like to explore lounges downtown. I also go to a lot of comedy shows.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Besides god I definitely have to say my mother lol I know that’s a cliche answer but she been my therapist, financial advisor, manager I mean I could go on lol she is the reason I’m so tough on life now! Nothing really moves me or scared me and she instilled that in me(even the crazy side lol)
